Thanks Viki & Suz, my feeling is that there's no real point in allowing it to get to you. We got in this mess together, and needed to sort it out together, although hubby's attitude was always slightly different to mine. Whereas I worried about everything, he always had the motto that 'they can't have what we ain't got'. I suppose he was right in a way. Kazzy x

Hubby is a bit the same Kazzy, he's very laid back and he always tells me that everything is going to be ok. He really believes that too which helps me a lot. Your blog is fantastic, I hope if I have the bottle to write one, it will be as good as yours. X

Kazzie, a wonderful insight to how i'm sure all of us have felt whilst waiting for that all important life changing call, i remember mine, one of the creditors wouldn't accept so it had to go to a vote and thankfully at 3:15pm that afternoon it came through, i had to go and sit with a friend because i didn't want to be alone. All my friend know about my situation and they have been so supportive, some of my work colleagues also know and to be honest i found out the other day that one of them also was in an IVA so........... It just goes to prove that you aren't alone and this site proves it, i am so glad that i put IVA in my search and up came this forum it has enabled me to know that i am not on my own, there are other people who are experiencing what i am going through and if i can be as supportive of them as my friends are of me then so be it.

Viki, I can't wait to read yours, it will be fantastic.

Orchid, you are dead right. You're really not alone. In fact, although I've not been able to tell anyone except for my sister, really it doesn't matter because I have my forum family that I can talk to day and night and if anything, although none of you 'know' me, you understand my situation far more than any of my friends ever would. So I don't feel alone anymore, I just have the benefit of being selective of who I talk to about what in my life. That suits me fine now, as I am in control. Kazzy x

what a fantastic blog kazzy! its so inspirational to read about other people's experiences of how debt can affect our lives,& how we can come through it with strength and positivity & i was giggling to myself when i read the bit about you sitting in the car waiting for "the call" as i had to do the very same thing as it was the only place where i knew no one could hear me.it was red hot & i was cooking! but thankfully only had to wait half an hour! anyway i wish you & your hubby all the luck in the world.xx

Hi TOL, its never too late. Everyone benefits from the real life stories that people have to tell and such valuable information can be learned from them. I find it is lovely to share 'my story' and that people are even interested in it. It is a great way of getting things off your chest as well. The thing that I have found most humbling is how people are so brave throughout their journeys of real hardship and go through real rollercoasters financially and emotionally. Didn't meant to make you cry, but I found myself welling up when I read other's blogs also. Give yours a go, I would love to read it. Kazzy x [;)]

Hi Kazzy,
Just read your blog and got choked up [:I]
We're on a 6 year IVA too with first payment coming up this Friday so on similar time scale to you and I took an afternoon off work to sit by the phone for the call - nearly burst into tears when our IP said accepted! Bet she thought I was daft ha ha!
I only have one work colleague who knows about our IVA so at least when I see her for first time since we were approved (which will be tomorrow) I will be able to talk to someone - yey! But know what you mean about wanting to shout it out loud - getting the accepted call was like passing your driving test - I just wanted to ring everyone and tell them but then none of my friends would understand and would just think we were fools for getting this bad.
Also hubby and I feel like a real team now and talk about money more than we have done in years - why didn't we do that when we should have?!!
Anyway all this waffle is just to say loved your Blog and keep writing - I too might have a go one day [:)]

Hi Til.

Thanks for reading my blog. I am sure many many people can relate to that ecstatic feeling when they got 'the call', and for all the newbies going through it right now, hopefully they will share in that wonderful feeling also.

It's great to hear that you and hubby are communicating about money, I think thats the best practice as you both know where you are and can share each other's worries so keep up the good work [:)]

For anyone considering writing a blog - please do, I love reading them and as TOL says, they are as good as reading a good book.

Stay positive hun, hope you new journey goes smoothly for you.

Rgrds
