hi there DM...jusr caught your blog...i am so sorry to hear re your friend...like you i can see that many people in this situation feel suicidal...including myself at times....altho i have felt like that several times in recent years..i would never do it.....i have had two brothers kill themselves and know how it can affect those family and friends left behind so i would never be able to put my OH and children through it no matter what....
it is so sad that we are driven to such desperation over money isnt it???...and he was soooo young too....
i will be thinking of you over the weekend of 29th that you head off to london for your BR....hope all goes well....keep us informed....i tend to read both the BR forum and IVA one too...sad i know...but somehow all the posts make me feel less alone and more able to hold my head up ...if that makes sense.. take care

I read the BR site too TOL, BR is my only option if my IVA isn't accepted so I try and learn as much as possible. They are a great bunch "over there". I read your blog DM, very sad, I'm sure you're there for your friend. Good luck for the BR. X

i am also so sorry for the loss of your friend.what a tragic thing to happen.and can i just say dm,kazzy and tol, your blogs are fantastic.it is so helpful and reassuring to read about other people's experiences whether happy or sad,and how they then deal with the situation's they have found themselves in...a great comfort to many people who are going through difficult times.it just goes to show that we are all certainly not alone in all of this.[:)]xx

Hi Tori, thanks for your comments. You are never alone in your journey hun and you should always remember that we are here for you, if only to sound off, rant or plainly have a whinge. Have you written a blog yet? If not, you should. It gives you a great sense of cleansing, as everything in your thoughts can be offloaded onto it which leaves your refreshed mind to take on the world. Good luck hun, don't forget, we're here for you. Kazzy x

yeah tori..i second what has been said...blogging is a great way to get stuff out of your head..so to speak...and if only one person is helped on their journey then it is worthwhile doing it...
i have found that seeing what common emotions we all share have lessened the isolation i felt before i discovered this site....
take care

Thank you so much for thinking of me, not to mention my poor friend.
TOL, you poor thing losing two brothers. You probably know this but it is being researched now and it seems that definate links have been found that suicide/suicidal thoughts are or can be hereditry, just like alcoholism. As an optimist, I just find it so tragic. There has to be a solution.
This forum really is a lifesaver. I remember a certain nurse joining this forum who really worried me. Now several months on, she is like a different person; bubbly, positive and able to give advice.
I'm so looking forward to FF at Birmingham. You can never have too many friends xxxxx

yeah DM...my family has a long generational link to alcoholism...both parents etc and certainly one of my brothers was a life time abuser of alcohol...before he died
its the one thing i have always steered clear off...i have an odd glass of wine about 5 times a year and thats it...but then my addictive behaviour was spending money.!!!!!
we are hoping to go to slough FF as its just a half hour or so from us...and if we can we will make an overnight FF in birmingham...as you say...we all need friends
if this forum had a theme tune it should be joe cocker singing
"I get by with a little help from my friends,"
look forward to meeting you ....
