Hi Lauren - could you get a reference from your current landlord?

Have you approached any other rental agents yet, or are you just assuming that they won't touch you?

Have you tried a private landlord? They are sometimes more understanding.

Hi
The Co-op Cashminder account will provide you with an Electron card or Think Banking will give you a debit card[£12.50 per month fee]
As others have said try private landlords, however many posters have been able to let through an agency, just be upfront with them and if you can offer a larger deposit

Hi there try the private landlords and get a reference from your present one if possible. Also you could try being upfront and explaining the situation, and if possible offer a bigger deposit so you are alwys in advance.
All the best hope you get sorted soon and post if you do it will help others this question comes up quite often.

Belvoir Lettings require 6 months rent upfront OR a gaurantor - they have offices nation wide. Private landlords will be more understanding but you can get less protection as a tennant if you are unlucky enough to be left with a dodgy landlord who won't repair anything or service/check gas appliances etc.

I am letting through Belvoir and they have sent a repair man out within hours of me calling with a problem. My brother rented privately up until a year or so ago and his landlord was always in stealth mode when anything needed doing.
There are too many stories each winter about the elderly and very young dying after carbon monoxide poisoning due to old, unserviced and broken gas appliances etc.
I take comfort in knowing that someone will come and fix whatever is needed ASAP!
Belvoir were very understanding about our situation and I am VERY grateful to them and our landlord for giving us a chance after we were reposessed.
