I have a poor credit rating and hvae just got married, I have no joint financial affaires with my new wife, but am concerned that she will have her credit rating effected is this the case?

Hi marktc and welcome to the forum
Your wife's credit rating will probably be affected by yours as you are now married. Storm knows more about this type of thing, and will probably respond more fully tomorrow.

As far as Im aware, as long as you dont apply for anything jointly then your wife shouldnt be too badly affected just because you have got married. The association with you may have a slight impact on her overall credit score, but if its very good anyway it shouldnt be too much of a problem. Also, if she has or has had borrowings and good track records with certain banks, then maintaining business with them shouldnt be too much of an issue as they'll probably take more note of their own internal records than the external credit reference files.
