Are your employers informed if you take out an IVA?

Hi
No they are not.
However if you work in the financial services sector you will need to check the terms and conditions of your contract as they often have a clause relating to insolvency.

IVAs are considered more private / less public than Bankruptcy because in Bankruptcy your details are published in the local newspaper. However in an IVA your details will be placed on the Insolvency Register which is available to the public. However, this is little known about and someone would have to specifically search for a person through their name and location rather than just generally searching for everyone in an area.
