If I get married while on an IVA how will my partner be affected?

You will likely have to discuss with your IP about an updated income expenditure report as this will have probably changed. However, the fact that you are in an IVA won't necessarily have any effect on your Spouse other than the fact you may need support from them during the course of your IVA.

Hi jan,

The first thing to do is to contact your IP.
Your monthly expenditure will change so you will need to make a new expenditure report. As Oliver said, it wont have any effect on your partner other than including his income as you may need his support during the IVA.

If you already living together etc then it shouldn't.

All my wife needs to do is let me work out her average take home pay/send payslips to IP so we can split the households bills in proportion of income. In my case she earns 60% of household income, so I contribute 40% to household bills. (ie if househld bills were £1000 per month, mine contribution would be £400, hers £600). Different IP's may handle this in slightly different ways. If you already living together anyway, then this is presumably already the case.

If not, then maybe the TV licence can be canned for a while!

Good point. If you are already living together and have already completed a joint income and expenditure report with your IP originaly then getting married should really have no effect.
