Do I have to advise my employer?

In an IVA you do not need to directly advise your employer of your agreement unless it states so in the terms and conditions of your employment.

Welcome to the Forum Mark,
It would be a good idea to double check your terms and conditions of employment, as it may directly state that you cannot enter into any voluntary arrangements.
However if it does not state this your employer does not need to know.

Hello,
Bankrupts may be prevented from practising by certain professional bodies and cannot act as directors of limited companies ; otherwise it depends on the terms of your contract of employment.
An individual voluntary arrangement is unlikely to affect your employment, unless you are authorised by a professional body, in which case you should seek their advice.
Kind regards,
