I have £67000 in unsecured debts and can only currently afford £120 per month via a debt managment plan to my 9 creditors. My partner will soon to move in with me and this will increase our joint income - We will then have approx £350-400 available to pay my creditors - Would an IVA be the best option re clearing my debt?
I have a £167000 mortgage
Value of my property is £240000
Will any of my partners saving be touched by the IP?

Hello

I am not sure if you would qualify as you have so much equity in your property and may not be insolvent, which has to be the case for IVA.

I am not an expert, just another person in debt, I am sure one of the experts may come forward and help you further

Hi
Freelili is correct and your best course of action could be to remortgage and offer a full and final settlement to your creditors.Take expert advice from one of the companies on this forum.

Hi Colin

www.123debtsolutions.co.uk are a small company that dedicate time to each individual case. They will advise of the best steps to take with regards to your specific financial situation. It may well be that the only option available to you is a remortgage but I would recommend seeking professional advice before proceeding with any alternative arrangements.

If you give them a call and ask for Adam, he is a senior case worker, he will no doubt offer you the best advice and the most appropriate course of action.

He will also advise on the best course of action with regards to your partners savings.

Best of Luck

Thanks for your reply - Have only just remortgaged at a good rate 4.9% fixed for 3 years (£3000 redemption penalty)- Would willingly remortgage but not sure how much more i could get on top of what iam currently mortgaged against - my income is £39000 per year. Is there any way that i can get an IVA even if i have capital in my home?
