Yes david

You could approach your local Citizen's Advice Bureau, the Consumer Credit Counselling Service or the National Debtline. All parties are easily accessible via the internet.

Regards, Melanie Giles, Insolvency Practitioner for over 20 years.

Hi David,
Whilst in essence the Charitable organizations are there to assist it is window dressing in some instances, as CAB is strapped for cash and some branches do not have a trained Debt Worker only Advisers or Welfare Benefits worker, and tho they may do an Income&Expenditure sheet for you you will still have to do all the work of writing yourself to all your creditors. This has not always been the case but it does seem to vary from one Branch to another. Unless you have money aplenty there seems very little help available and Solicitors don't now do Legal Aided Consumer Debt work as not enough money in it for them which is a shame as they work as Debt Collectors as more money working for Creditors.
