Hi All
I have had some good news today, my counsellor has booked me in for what should be "my last session" next week. They have said that i have made good progress since the christmas incident.
I have mentioned to them about hoping to go for an IVA and they have praised me for facing up to everything.
I am still very very worried about everything though i am just hoping that when i speak to a debt advisor that they want to take my case on!
Sorry to rant on, but as usual having a panic moment!
Can anyone tell me how soon after the initial phone call that they can tell you when and if they will take you on. I am going to be going through Thomas Charles.
thanks Zoe x

Hi Zoe
Very happy to hear that your counseling has been going well. Our experts should be in a position to recommend a solution to you by the end of your first conversation with them. To assist them to do this it would be helpful to have with you your latest pay slip and a rough income expenditure statement (this is something that you can start thinking about straight away, you'll need to think of all the things that you spend money on each month, this is harder than it sounds.
Best Regards
Oliver

Certainly. Do you have access to the internet? If you do then you can choose which Expert you would like to deal with. All our Experts have feedback from their previous clients on our website. Simply choose the Expert you would like and email them explaining when you would like to be contacted. Alternatively feel free to call the office when you are free to talk and someone can call you straight back

Thanks Oliver
I have chosen who i wish to help me, that is Douglas, even though all reviews seem excellent.
Obviously each case is marked on own merits but are many people turned away?
Sorry i'm panicking again!!!

Hi Zoe, glad to hear your counselling sessions are going well. I spoke to Thomas Charles and they were excellent. I can't comment on how many cases are turned away as I don't know, but I am sure they will be able to help you. They have a 99% success rate, so once they had taken my case I was quite confident that it would be accepted.
Onwards and upwards!!!

Hi Zoe
Great news about the counselling. Its hard enough to deal with our debt problems without trying to beat an addiction such as gambling. Huge respect to you for coping and sorting both. I dealt with Douglas at Thomas Charles and he was brilliant. Never judgemental and always available to calm my nerves and reassure me when call centre staff told me they were within their rights to do this or that. In reality they could do no such thing but having Douglas to check these things with was invaluable.
Good luck with everything. Remember we are not bad people but people who are bad with finances.

No cases are turned away Zoe as there will always be a solution that we can help with even if this turns out not to be an IVA. If Doug feels that an IVA is right for you then rest assured he will do everything in his power to ensure that your IVA is accepted and as has been mentioned above we do have a 99% acceptance rate on our IVA proposals.
Best Regards

Your welcome Zoe.
I think it would be a good idea to mention our conversations as Doug spends most of his time working with clients rather than monitoring the forum.
I will let him know that you will be contacting him shortly.
All the best and please keep posting with updates on your situation.
Best Regards
