All our creditors now will have copies of our proposal with date of the meeting. Shouldnt they know this when they keep calling us after payments? and what can we say to them now, knowing full well they have copy of proposal and date of meeting?
Thank you

Hi Baz
Of course your creditors should be aware of your forthcoming creditors meeting, but that doesn't stop them being awkward. Keep being polite when they phone you, and tick the days off leading up to the meeting!
When you do speak to them just tell the truth - that you have a creditors meeting on XX February - and you assume that they will have received copies of the proposals.

Thanks melanie, I have got the date through for the meeting, its 7th March!!! 10.40 (gosh that will be a stressful morning)
Had a creditor on the phone this morning,I explained that there is a creditors meeting on the 7th and that their company should be in receipt of a copy of the proposal, they said they had had no correspondonce and can we get a copy faxed to them. Do you think the info just hasnt filtered down to that department yet? Are they all going to say this?

Hi Baz
Yes, the information probably hasn't got to that department yet. Unfortunately you will still be contacted by your creditors up until the meeting (and sometime even afterwards), but don't panic - if you explain the situation and refer them to your IP, or ask you IP to call them or fax them the information they require then you will be ok.
Let your IP share some of the burden of dealing with this - that's what they're there for!
Good luck with your meeting on 7th.
Hope this helps

Baz, it will all eventually settle down. All you can tell them is the truth. If the calls carry on then maybe let the IP acting on your behalf know that you're still getting hassle?
I'm not as far as you into the IVA process yet, my propsal is being prepared at the moment and I get calls/letters everyday. Like Melanie said just be polite as possible. I called Vodafone collections department this morning and I only owe them £250 but you'd think I owe them hundreds of thousands of pounds with the way they carry on. I explained that the debt I have with them is to be included in my IVA and that was met with 'Can you make a payment today' [88] They're like automated robots and have no feelings for what we're going through. At the end of the day these people are only doing what they're paid to do. Try not to take any of what they say to heart. It probably is just purely the fact that your accounts have not been taking of the daily 'call and hassle them for payment' lists yet.
