I have just received a £600 bonus at work and i am due to receieve a further one next month for £800. do i have to inform my IP straight away and how do they calculate how much i keep. Im sure i was advised 50% previosuly.

hi there. We earn overtime each month and 50% goes to the creditors, I think your bonus would be the same. I find it still worth doing the overtime as it gives us that bit extra each month . Before the iva all the overtime just kept our heads above water, now at least we feel the benefit. I ring my case manager each month and he takes the extra for us , and that way we wont get asked for a whopping amount at our review, better to pay it straight away.

Great advise from aguise,best pay it as you get it.
You will only have to pay 50% of the post tax amount.

Also for any one working overtime and spending money on extra travelling costs i;e working on your day off,then make sure that the IP deducts this extra cost from your overtime[so if you get an extra £100 but have spent £20 extra on fuel then you should only pay £40 into your IVA]
