You are just moving up the collection teams.

They will not doubt have been informed of all those details already if the meeting is on the 8th just not updated the systems.

Whilst is is tedious to continue taking the same phone calls from your creditors, remember to be as polite as you can bear because at the end of the day they hold your destiny in their hands. MBNA are one of the most vigourous callers, but their call centre staff can usually be placated as long as you answer their questions.

I found MBNA staff to be rude and aggressive. I tried being polite to them, but they only stopped phoning when I told them if they phoned me at work once more I would get the sack and therefore they wouldn't receive a penny from me.

Three down, fifty seven to go until freedom!

Hi, just to say that MBNA were the worst to me and had me in tears on several occasions. Yes the majority of the time its our own fault for our debt, but sometimes its not. Things happen in life to people that are out of their control. however, MBNA do not care, they rang me at all hours chasing money telling me if i just paid £13 this month (and i owed them 9k) they would stop calling for a month. They also said if i didnt pay they would deliberately decline my IVA, however, they work commercially and they wont cut off their nose to spite their face! What i did discover is the collections team work on a commission of how much they collect - hence being so rude!! Just try to avoid their calls - you've told them as much as you can, let the meeting take place and it will all stop!! Good luck!

Hi all

There seems to be a timescale with MBNA. When I first missed payments in Nov a company called RMA called my mobile and my landline several times a day. Fortunately I was in the process of switching mobile contracts so just turned my old phone off. My home phone has caller ID so I screened any calls.
Once I knew I was going for IVA I made a point of contacting my creditors to keep them informed. Since then I have had nothing from RMA and any correspondence from MBNA has been written. They did call me last week with an offer to accept a reduced settlement but I pointed out that I would have to arrange similar deals with all my other creditors and that an IVA would treat everybody equally.
As somebody else has mentioned previously we get moved up the collection teams. In the early days it seems like mission control with the number of incoming calls but they do seem to reduce. If they are too unbearable you could always ask BT to change your number.

Good luck for the 8th.

mbna have strange demands, often needing a letter from the client and a phone call as part of the "am in a IVA leave me alone" requirement.
