Well I've survived my first phone call from a creditor! We sent letters out at the weekend stating our intention to enter into an IVA, and Egg have been the first to call. I was absolutley dreading it, I didn't know what to expect, but thought they might be slightly miffed!
The guy I spoke to was amazingly polite! He even thanked me for keeping them informed, and explained the procedure from their end (the time it takes before I get a strongly worded default notice etc...)
I only hope that the other creditors are all as nice about it (I doubt it, but I can hope!)
One down....a few more to go!

Good stuff Helen, although sadly I think that you may well find that this persons behaviour is more likely to be the exception rather than the rule.

Hi Helen
I agree also this was more likely the exception, though of our 17 creditors only one was really bad the others either did not ring at all or were quite polite, unfortunately the one made up for all the others.I found it all go relatively quiet once they received the proposal.
Be strong dont let them get to you.

Just wanted to add that since April (when we stopped paying our creditors) we have maintained regular contact with them all. I usually end the conversations by agreeing a timescale (usually 2 weeks) and then going back to them just before then. It has also helped that a lot of them recognise our IP (Melanie) so this has made things easier. I have on occasions unplugged the telephone but this hasn't really been too bad as we usually call them before they call us. Hope this helps.

helhan, good luck with your IVA. And the the polite conversation is an exception. I remember the conversations I had with my creditors in the past and still cringe.
Take care
All I have left is my humour.

Not sure where it's gone but did post a thread
** regarding keeping in contact with creditors earlier today?
Seems to have vanished (wish my debts would!)
