Hi all,

I have a car on HP, its got 5 years left to run, I owe about 5K and the car is worth about 5K. If I went Bankrupt could I keep the car - I do use it for work sometimes but only about twice a month or so.

This has been answered on our sister bankruptcy site.
It will be upto the finance company and the OR,depending on the monthly cost and if it is deemed to be essential.

Your question has probably been sorted now but I had the same problem and my OR asked if I wanted to keep it seperate from my Bankruptcy and keep paying them back so I could keep it for work. I said no as I wanted a clean slate (even though I still miss that car ) but depending on the circumstance you maybe able to
