Hi - Im in the process of going bankrupt. I just have a question regarding the outgoings page (section 7) of the forms. I have put down rent, housekeeping costs, telephones charges, travelling and clothing and then under other essential payments put down dental, optician, and medicial with holiday allowance but my question is do i need to put down contingencies. I don't want to put stuff down like gym as i know this is not essentail, but im wondering if i need to put this down and state an amount otherwise i will not get it. I would be grateful for any help. thanks

Hi r.s., I would say put down everything you spend, although I don't think you'll get gym membership. The thing is if you don't ask you won't get! I have posted my allowances on my blog. If you have a car make sure you claim enough for running costs and maintenance.

r.s i put contingencies down and they disallowed it however others have and they have allowed it i only put £50 down, have you allowed for car insurance, mot tax, haircuts, internet, pets, clothes, professional bodies, life insurance, mobile, things that you may pay annualy they will only say no if they don't agree with it and tell you it must come out of your surplus

Put down everything you spend money on, and let the OR disallow items if they see fit.

Agree with the others put down absolutely everything that you spend money on in the month and then the OR will challenge you on anything that they deem unreasonable.
