I very rarely take overtime into account when calculating a client's basic wages - as it can never be guaranteed and you will find problems in months when you may not receive much money. In my cases, the 50% uplift is therefore calculated on the additional earnings actually received above basic salary.
The safest way to keep those monies from temptations way is to send it to your IP. Ang - a regular poster does this every month without fail to her IP, and finds that this works well and ensures that she is fully compliant with her IVA. I would suggest you do something similar.

Hi Remster
As Melanie said I pay the overtime over each month, I did consider keeping it in a separate account, but when I asked my company they said that I could ring them and they would take it monthly. It has worked well so far, I am just heading for a 6 monthly review so will have to see how it has worked out. As you said I have a fixed figure for my wage and for my husbands and anything over that we pay 50% of.I have made my own silly little spread sheet ( a few bored moments ) but I can see straight away what our earnings were and what we paid in overtime, its easy for me so when review comes I have an understanding of what they have had extra. I have had a small rise but I have said and they can offset a rent rise against that so all should more or less even out.
I am with thinkbanking also and all goes well at present.
