thats right mandy if your creditors accept the full and final settlement, what you earn after that is yours.

Hello mandy

I just wanted to say that we will give you support here and help you with questions or like kerri and ang says if you want to moan.

sounds like you have had a tough time, we are all in debt too so you are not alone.

Melanie is an expert like the one you have spoken to and will help you with the technical stuff that is hard to understand.

The phone calls are horrible just hang up as you are doing the right thing for you.

good luck and I hope that you get back to your old self soon.

let us know how you get on

LILY

I believe that angels breathe and love will live on and never leave. I cherish all you gave me everyday.

Hi again Mandy
An iva full and final settlement can be done quite quickly. It will depend on how long before your husband will be giving you your money for the house. It can take about six weeks. Sometimes longer. Take your time ,and make sure you have a good insolvency practioner, they will help you through everything and if you dont understand anything ask them again or ask on the forum.
Do not let the phone calls upset you, we have all had them.
I wish you well in your recovery, and hope you feel better soon.

shop around for the insolvency practitioner, telephone a few, or try some on this site, they can;t directly tell you to do this as they can't be seen to be touting for business, have a look at mels web site and maybe contact her through that.
make sure you are also getting your right share in regards to the house and don't be talked into anything by your hubby, take care

Hi Mandy, I'm sorry to hear about your stroke and I hope you are soon on the mend. I also hope that you get your debt problems sorted out soon - that will be a weight off your mind. Please don't feel that you have messed up - we all make mistakes, and the fact that you are facing up to your debts means that you are going in the right direction. I messed up to the tune of £65k and went bankrupt in March - I wish I had faced up to things sooner. This is my opinion (and I know a lot of others share it!), but if you contact Melanie you won't go far wrong. Good luck, and please keep posting to let us know how you are getting on, and if you have any questions (or just want to have a moan!) please post away!

Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is the present - a gift to make the most of.

if you do not have a job i would not go for an IVA as you will not be able to afford it. Go bankrupt instead.
