As of 10.15am this morning I am officially bankrupt. I decided to go sooner rather than later and I am so glad I did. Everyone at the court was so nice to me. After paying my money I had to wait to see the judge, I was with him for about 10 minutes and I was then given a letter advising that the OR would contact me within 7 days, and if I haven't heard, contact them. I'm now worrying about the OR meeting, but I know I am now on course for my fresh start.
Thanks to everyone on here for all your help and support over the last few months, and good luck to everyone who is in the same situation.
Onwards and upwards!!!

Hi Skippy
Really pleased it all went ok for you this morning Hopefully that horible feeling in your stomach you must have had has gone and you are right on your way to a fresh start. Try not to worry about the OR meeting as you have done your best to deal with your debts and they will see this. Take care and keep posting

Hi Skippy,
Well done to you as we both know it is not an easy decision to make but i am glad that i have done it, still have mixed emotions but today i am debt free at a huge price. I have my interview with the OR on the 24-04-07 so like yourself still feel the uncertainty if what will happen with the house the car etc. i think then can i truly feel that i can put my life back on tracks.
Good luck to you in the future.[:D]

I know exactly how you feel Coco. I am so relieved that the court part is out of the way, but worried about the OR. I know I don't have a house, but I really feel for you on that one. I wish I knew when the OR meeting was going to be, but apparently my local one is really busy so it's just a matter of waiting. I am going to give them a call tomorrow to ask about my bank account as Lloyds are happy for me to keep it, but I want the OR to confirm it's ok before my salary goes in!
Good luck Coco, I will be thinking of you x

Thanks, I have been online to myvesta uk who recommended them and they told me to ring. I don't know how long I should leave it. But I'm getting worried now so it won't be long. I just need to know which way I am going with it.

Hi Skippy,
We had a 10 min interview i mentioned our basic bank account and they said that they dont freeze them it would be the banks decision, I spoke to Barclays the week before and they would allow my account to stay open as they are not one of my creditors and as it is only basic there is no concerns on that one.

Hello Lesley.
As they say no news is good news, i cant understand why your IP has not contacted you after the creditors meeting.
but i have heard that this can be normal, as i was told this, but i was contacted about an hour after my meeting.
I am keeping my fingers crossed again for you.
Regards.

Thanks everyone. I phoned the OR this morning to ask about my bank account - Lloyds were happy for me to keep it, and so was the OR, but they told me that it could still be frozen by Lloyds as different departments don't always talk to each other - and don't we know that?!? I have opened a Co-op Cashminder account to be on the safe side as I don't want to take any chances with my salary. They also said I could keep my mobile phone contract with Vodafone as I don't owe them any money. I will have to wait about my car, and that's the one thing that worries me. I should hear from the OR in the next week to arrange the meeting, so fingers crossed they'll let me keep a car of some sort. I feel much more positive today than I did yesterday, just glad I have finally done something.
By the way, congratulations Andy/Neverending!
I have updated my blog, and I hope that it might help someone else in the same situation. I will update it again when there are more developments with the OR.
Onwards and upwards!!!
