Hi im new to the forum
In March im 3 years into my IVA I was with Debt matters but it got passed to Payplan.
I am late getting my expenditure form back they wanted January my Mum has just been diagnosed with Alzheimers and im dropping my hours at work to help care for her which is why I havent filled out my form as in March my hours are changing.
I was told by a lady who wasnt my IP that they need the form now and I will have to fill out another in march..POINTLESS....
I also was looking for advice on Final settlement as my Dad has offered to pay it off and I will pay him back over a longer term as Im helping him with the care for Mum.
My debt was 23k Im paying back 18k in March it will be £7,200 I owe do you think £5,500 will be a suitable offer the lady at payplan just said it needed to be as close as possible and rushed me off the phone
Any advice would be great Thanks Lucy

Hi Lucy. Your offer seems very generous and creditors are normally happy to receive money early especially if the dividend does not substantially drop and there is a valid reason for early closure. Your case seems to have both so I see no reason that it would be rejected unless there was a property involved and substantial equity in it.

Good luck and keep us informed.

Hi Lucy and welcome to the forum.

I'm sorry to hear about your mum, and I hope that your offer is accepted by your creditors x

I think that offer has a very good chance of being accepted - and good luck with that I hope it works out for you.

I also concur and your IP should suggest to creditors that this F&F is a fair sum under the circumstances. Good luck and let us know how you get on.

Hello

My letters went to Payplan on the 11th Febuary still waiting to hear from my IP so all my fingers crossed My dads offer was £5500 on the remaining debt £7200.

Even though I will still be in debt to my Dad it will be such a good feeling to not be under this IVA its been such a hard 3 years trying to get by.

I bet you can all relate to the feeling of always being the broke one :(

How long do you think it may take to hear back.

Give them a little nudge to see if they can respond to you over the next 7 days.

Has anyone had any dealing with Payplan I have chased them today ref my letters and been told they didnt have the final offer letter, when I asked why I was told last Friday they did have it and accounts were looking into it.
I was then told they needed to call me back.
They have just rung back to say sorry we do have your letter and you should hear in a few weeks.
I asked the advisor if she could let me no if she thought it was a fair offer she said its not for her to comment!!!

I advised her I have been on the IVA forum and every other company seem to be able to help there clients with advice on dividents, she put me on hold and said yes its a fair divident but it is £2000 less than your agreement, its £1700 less in fact to be honest her tone said it all I am now holding no hope it will be approved.
Sorry to rant on.
Im fustrated as I went with Debt matters at the start and it got passed to payplan I didnt choose them.

There was a representative posting on the forum from Payplan for a while, but I have not seem them for the last few weeks.

In my experience, speak to the IP directly, rather than a member of staff - who in fairness may not be empowered to comment.

I've not seen her either.

I would try to get in touch with the IP directly to see what is going on as Melanie says.

You can email them direct via this link:

he meeting is Friday 2rd May so I guess I will hear that day how its all gone I am so nervous.

I was speaking to a friend about debt the other day and I so wish I hadnt have had the credit cards and loans offered to me at such a young age my problems started with the first credit card at 18.
I was very silly when I look back but we live and learn.

I have been told by my IVA company that my offer is fairly good.

The amount offered is now £5.500 and I owe £6.900 my debt is mainly with max recovery who must have bought it from HSBC.

I will let you all no the outcome.

Bye for now.
