Hi all,
My IVA started in May 2006 and due to a transfer between debt matters and grant thornton and a drastic change in circumstances there was a period of non-payment so GT extended my IVA for a further year meaning it would complete in May 2012.
I offered a F & F settlement in June and have just been told it has been accepted and they are sending me out the paperwork within the next couple of days.
My questions are..what happens now? How long will it be before i get my certificate of completion? I have read about getting my credit reports and ensuring default dates are correct etc., which i will do. But will my credit file be supposedly clear in May 2012 as that is 6 years after my IVA was accepted?
Also I run a group that is applying for charity status, can i apply to be a trustee as soon as i get my certificate of completion or do i have to wait until the 6th year is up?

Thanks to all in advance. I feel like i can restart my life again now, debt free.

Congratulations on being accepted.

Your iva will fall off at the end of six years and you need to make sure that any defaults registered after date of iva acceptance are removed.

Not sure about the application for trustee though

It should drop off next May. Check your files now and then write to any creditotrs concerned once you have your letter.

please read the posts on closurers, it'll give you a postion where it's starting to bottle neck with the IP's. Be patient but if it doen't happen after four months you must push them.

Once we were few but soon we will be many! my quote for the day!

Congratulations on getting your F&F accepted, brilliant news for you today.
As you have completed your IVA you can apply to be a trustee but will need your Notice of Completion which will follow shortly.

Kind Regards
Karol

Be realistic and try to swicth it off for 12 weeks. Then shout a bit. what IP's fail to realise it's like a five year fiscal prison sentance
and just when you think your getting out it's a NO and when you ask when will I be released they just say..Shortly...Shortly

It took me four/five months to get my CC and that was a couple of months ago and I'm still not quite right in the head!

I'm told Karol is a top girl at GT, I'm sure she'll have it all wrapped up for you within six weeks, now there's a challenge!

Hi Chelka,

I would appreciate it if you could contact us at ivacustomerservices@uk.gt.com and put the words "IVA Forum" in the subject line in order that I can identify who you are and arrange for our Closure Team to carry out a review of your case - I will be able to give you a more meaningful timescale once that review has been done.

I look forward to hearing from you and congratulations again on getting to this point.

Kind regards

Karol

Don't I feel the idiot! I did wonder though, is there a growing backlog of cases industry speaking, or has it always been this way?
