I am in the process of trying to get a firm remortgage offer so i can offer a full and final settlement to my 3 year long iva.
I am trying to offer the same dividend that was agreed at the beginning. My marriage is suffering greatly and this is rubbing off on the children as they cant understand why mum is always so upset and we are always arguing. Also the rising interest rates are starting to affect us now and i really dont want my iva to fail.(i feel a duty to pay back as much as i can)
My children could not cope with losing their home epecially the youngest who is having countless assessments done to see if he has autism. This could be very dammaging for him.
My question is....Is it normal to feel sick and have sleepless nights while all this is being prepared or am i over reacting?

Hang on in there... Of course it's going to affect your little one, the stress levels must be going through the roof - go for a long walk, before going to bed, try and tire yourself out and get a good nights sleep. You are not the first to go though this and you won't be the last..

Thank you
I just feel so responsible for all the suffering as some debts were brought with me from my last marriage. Its like stress overload at the minute in our house. I just hope my offer is accepted then we can get some kind of normality back and concentrate on the little one.

Hi Skint
You have tackled your debt problems head on for three years,be proud of that.
Full and final settlements seem to be favoured by creditors at the moment,so you are in with a good chance.

I have had an offer in principle so far and borrwed some money for the house valuation. I hope i can then get a firm offer.
We live in an ex council house in the middle of quite a rough estate and will be lucky if theres a couple of thousand more equity now than there was at the start. I hope te creditors will consider all this and accept now.

Mike whats the chances of this offer in principle turning into a thanks but no thanks?
Is it all straight forward after the valuation?

To put your mind at rest check out the site http://www.rightmove.co.uk/action/SoldPricesAction - just put in your postcode and check the price of recently sold properties in your area.

All mortgage brokers and mortgage lenders are very different - but if we (Leybridge) had requested a valuation we would be VERY confident there was a solid deal/offer to be had - once (or if) the property 'vals up' it is just a case of collating the documentation required for the lender and then submission then offer.

It’s never plain sailing, but it’s down to the broker you have gone with to be honest, to how much of it comes back to you, and how much work the broker does.
