We heard today that hubby's Variation Meeting is to be held on November 26th. He actually wants to attend it LOL is that allowed?

As far as I know you are entitled to attend any creditor's meeting. Good luck for the 26th!

I am sure that his IP will be delighted that he is attending the meeting, as a sign of his complete commitment to the ongoing procedure!

Will he actually get to speak to his creditors though and explain our situation in person? The reasons for wanting to settle are a little vague on the report and it might be better to explain properly

Hi
It is almost certain that the creditors will not be there but it is good to read of someone who is actually going to attend.
I look forward to hearing about how it went

I can promise you that the creditors will not be in attendance at the meeting, but it is helpful to the IP if your husband is there in case he needs to give his consent to any modifications. Do make sure he sends us a despatch about his day.

He has been granted the morning off work and has now emailed to ask if he can attend. I will keep you posted on what they say and of course let you all know the outcome of the meeting.
Just hope they dont tell him not to bother turning up as he feels its something he really wants to do.

best of luck with the meeting....i can see where your hubby is coming from.
I imagined my creditors meeting to be a huge room...with a massive oval table and 1 representative of each of my creditors along with my IP all voting by hands up.
