F&F, what should I do for the best?

Hello,

I’ve been in my IVA for 4 years now and it’s due to finish next August, one month before I’m due to get married.

As you can imagine trying to do both has been a struggle and now my Fiancée has offered to help clear this for me so we can focus on the upcoming wedding which is great.

Reading some of the posts and questions above I see that in some cases it takes a few months for a response to be received to an offer.

With this in mind, should I base my offer based on the response lead time I’m given by Payplan?

Also, is there anything in particular that they will ask me that my partner will need to be aware of or would need to provide?

Sorry if this has already been raised and I have missed it! Any help that people can provide would be greatly appreciated!!

A few more details, I’m currently paying approx £495 per month with 11 months remaining. We were planning to offer £6k

Thanks in advance

Just to add to the above, some charges equating to approximately £1,300 have been added to the end of the agreement, which is why our offer will be more that the sum of the months remaining. (Hope that makes sense)

You can specify, in your offer, that payments after a certain date ( allowing them the usual few months) will be deducted from the offer ( this removes the temptation for delay for profit, not that I would suggest such a thing happens).

Payplan will probably want to see evidence of the funds ( partner's bank statement) and photo ID for money laundering regulations. The monies should be paid direct from his account to Payplan and not paid into your account first.

Best of luck with the offer and with the upcoming wedding -- Congratulations !

Thanks very much for your reply.

I have spoke to Payplan today and they’ve asked for the letters of authority from my Fiancée and I, along with my most recent payslip and the proposed offer stating it could take 2 months to complete.

She said that creditors have been strict as of late with accepting offers. (I’d have thought that they’d take what they could as were now in a recession) but fingers crossed its accepted.

Cheers!
