Just thought I would raise the fact that despite fastly approaching an IVA (fingers crossed) I am getting loads of offers for credit.

However these aren't the nice 0% transfers etc but are now offers for credit cards with very high APR's (I had one for an APR of 39.8% today).

Does anyone else think this is scandalous or is it just me? I think it's people just trying to take advantage of people in trouble and is just tempting them to get into even more debt again.

Hi Hunter
I dont think they even look at who they send them to, we still get loads through the post, credit cards, loans you name it, we get great pleasure in writing return to sender on them and putting them back in the post box. May I add our iva has been in place for a few months now so they obviously just get you from the electoral roll. What a waste of paper.

The information is supplied by Experian as part of there data services.

Companies buy data from them for marketing purposes with a number of filters / demographics, you must be there ideal customer.

Remember direct mail is shot gun approach typically for every 1000 letters sent out 10 will apply and 6 will fail at creditscore so thats a lot of trees for 4 customers.

Best thing is to shred the lot..........

I must say that your knowledge of the credit industry is amazing and is of great help to all of us on this site.
Would I be correct in thinking that as far as finance companies are concerned the more "new" business that they generate the better,or more acceptable, the bad debt figures look as it is all based on percentages of total business. ?
