I have been had my IVA since last August, paying £535 a month at the moment. This will go down to £475 in September because my salary will be going down(this was written into the IVA). However....me and my boyfriend have been seriously discussing moving in together. This would mean my outgoings significantly reduced as the rent, bills etc would be split between us. I am aware my IVA contributions would increase as a result, but am wondering:
*does the increase occur straightaway?
*how would my IVA affect my other half? Would his income be assessed as well as mine?
*Would it affect his credit rating if he lived with me?

Hi st1 and welcome to the forum

The increase ought to start as soon as you can afford to make it, but I would personally give you a couple of months to settle in until you know exactly what your new expenses are.

Your partner's income will only affect your IVA on the basis that you ought to both be paying a share of the household bills based upon the same percentage as your incomes. Your IVA is unlikely to affect his credit rating.
