Hello baz

You could try having a half hours free consultation to see where you stand with legal aid etc. Or go to the CAB and ask their advice. You do not have to put up with threatening/violent behaviour the law is on your side whatever the problems are.

Good luck

LILY

I asked God for a solution and have to live with his reply.

Hopefully Gizmo will be on line at some stage this evening. She is a legal expert and can probably steer you in the right direction. Failing that, as Lily says the CAB are quite good at this sort of thing.

Some solicitors will give you an hour of advice free of charge, so it might be worth contacting a few in your local area. Good luck, as Lily says you don't have to put up with violent or threatening behaviour x

Onwards and upwards!!!

Hi Baz
Most solicitors firms offer a free half hour service and will be able to assess if you are eligible for legal aid which will mean that they will be able to write the letters for you at no cost to yourself. Your local CAB should be able to help with you details of firms who offer this service - firms often advertise this service in the yellow pages as well. The Law Society website (type in law society in your search engine) will also be able to provide you with details and contact numbers for all local solicitors. Hope this helps.

hi, thanks for that but i know i wont get legal aid because of what me and my fiance earn. I got legal aid when i went through my divorce but that was because i was on my own, i wouldnt get it now, so what other options do you think i have because i really do need a letter writing to my ex?

Thanks

I did reply earlier but its dissapeared so here goes again. The CAB can provide some limited support depending on how complex the matter is or you could see if you have a Law Centre that you can access.

I'm sorry Baz - I did reply back to you again earlier in the day but my response has disappeared from the forum albeit that it was there earlier!
If you are on the receiving end of harrassment you can report this to the Police. They will give you a log number. You have to keep reporting incidents to them - they are able to issue a harrassment caution to someone after they behave in such a way they would know would cause harrassment on two or more occasions. if this caution is breached the Police could then apply to the court for a restraining order. Your local CAB will also be able to guide you as to whether there is a Law Centre in your area who are able to help people with legal advice and action on a free basis.
