Hi
No set time but should take 4 to 6 weeks a bit longer if property involved but very much depends on the ip and how quick you gey the info they need to them.

Hi,
I made my first phone call in mid January, and the IVA was accepted yesterday, so it took me 12 weeks, but the bigest wait was for the meeting date to come around. Once you start down the road, it goes like a flash, the first phone call I made to Thomas Charles seems only like last week.
Cheers, Mark.
IVA accepted, so 60 months to go!!
My one bit of advice, if I can do it, so can you!

morning sue
I was told to stop by my company straight away as soon as agreed we could go for an iva. It is best to wait for your ip to say what they prefer you to do any worries contact them.and ask. Also might help but every time we thought of something to ask we wrote it down when we had a face to face meeting I had this big long list of questions but its so easy to think I'll ask that when they come or when I ring and then forget.
Hope all goes well keep us informed and ask away that is what the forum is for.

Hi Sue,
I stopped paying creditors straight away, I was told to do this by the company that I was using, in my case Thomas Charles. I then informed creditors when they phoned, that I was applying for an IVA, they chased me for a while, manly for token payments. Then once my IP (Wilson Philips) sent out my information and meeting date, all phone calls and letters stopped, this was about 6-8 weeks after my first contact with anybody about an IVA.
Hope this helps
Cheers, Mark.
