Hi all, am after some advice please. Entered into a full and final iva on 13/7/2012 it is listed as completed on 4/7/2013. Does it go from my credit file 6 years after it started or 6 years after the completion date? Also, are there any mortgage companies who ask 'have you had an iva in the last 6 years' rather than 'have you ever had an iva'? Many thanks in advance x

Hi,
Your IVA will remain on your credit record for the full six years after the start.
Speak to our resident mortgage experts Shaun or Ryan - details can be found under the expert link on the left hand side of the page and they have been instrumental in helping a lot of people on here find a mortgage.

Ryan comes highly recommended as does Shaun. Their contact details are via this link

It all hinges on how the question is asked ...the use of a mortgage expert is essential

Your credit rating won't clean up until 2018 I'm afraid but Ryan and Shaun may still be able to help you.

As already confirmed above, your IVA will show on your credit file until 6 years from when it started. It should be removed from your file automatically but it's sometimes necessary to send a copy of your completion certificate to the various credit reference agencies if not. In terms of a new mortgage there are lenders who will consider mortgages for customers previously in an IVA but this is only one part of their criteria. The key to success is making sure that you do the relevant preparatory work prior to making an application and selecting a lender who will give you the highest chance of success.
