Hi Sharon.10
Have you tried emailing ivaclosures@uk.gt.com and just put 'IVA Forum' in the title.

This gets to the right people and they do answer eventually. Keep on at them.

Then it's just a waiting game I'm afraid...
Katy

18 months for me and I'm with GT too. I emailed them, putting IVA forum in the subject line and they've promised to expedite my case. Whether or not they'll come good, only time will tell but the promise is something i've never had before

A lot of unhappy posters about timescales of completion certificates - I am sure GT and the other companies are doing all they can to expedite things - I am sure it doesn't feel like it in your shoes but we live in hope.

hi i have still not heard anything i am getting really frustrated with this whole iva thing i feel they are not doing everything possible if i missed a payment on my iva i heard from them straight away but oh because i fulfilled my obligation its a different story you don't hear a word from them i don't know what avenue to go down i thought airing my views on this forum might help but how wrong can you be all i get is its a long drawn out process how long i think i'll be retired by the time i get my completion certificate the whole iva process is a joke i heard from debt free direct when i first posted saying they would try to get things moving which has'nt happened so i phoned equity in finance and they just said another 4 to 6 weeks that was 2 weeks ago i sent back my paperwork in april so how long ago was that i think that is 20 weeks ago why don't they say they don't know, how long is a piece of string by there standards it looks like miles all i want is my completion certificate i have fulfilled my legal obligation and i want closure what more can i do

I have to admit that I would certainly not have the patience that some posters caught in the PPI trap appear to have in waiting for the IVA closure certificate from GT et al and whilst this forum can offer some great advice and support, it really is'nt going to help posters in obtaining their CC's any quicker.

Me, well I'd be straight onto a Solicitor or an ambulance chasing law group and get some legal advice (even some home insurance policies cover legal advice free) and make my IVA Company aware of my position and that I wanted closure......and I'm sure that a Solicitor would'nt be so patient as us or willing to be fobbed off on a weekly basis!

I was one of those Pennyless, however I actually involved my MP in the end as I wasn't happy with what I was being told and the goal posts forever being in quick sand, enough was enough so, within 3 weeks of my having informed my MP, I got closure and two weeks later I got my CC, amazing how when a third party with a bit of clout gets involved and those wheels which seemingly were stuck start to turn very quickly.

I have Jo Swinson's email address as minister for consumer affairs if anyone wants it please email me, the more complaints that are made about delays that don't have a valid reason and using PPI isn't one of them now as IVA's can be closed despite investigations still be done, then hopefully this will be brought to the house and new legislation to protect those of us who have honoured our part of the bargain will be made, one lives in hope!
Om shanti, namesté, good luck to all who are embarking on the IVA journey, it isn't always an easy one but the outcome is the best.

IVA COMPLETED August 2012, received Completion certificate 18.4.13.

I fully understand where you are David, my blood pressure and sanity were definitely suffering back in Feb of this year because of this fiasco. Good luck and best wishes.

Orchid5 good for you and hopefully more will follow your example and if MP's etc start getting complaints then it may just become a wider topic discussed in the corridors of power, particularly in the near future when planned bills in regard to Financial Services/ Practioners et al are being processed.

Surely our recovery is part and parcel of a wider countrywide recovery ... and the Government should have regard to this.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.

Dear Wiggle, I unfortunately have either deleted the email with the relevant address on it or just can't find it, however if you email the following and put the title in as Jo Swinson it will hopefully get to her.

enquiries@bis.gsi.gov.uk

Good luck and best wishes.
