That's right. I think it starts to look tired if it goes on for too long.

Even Santa in store gets earlier and earlier every year.

Prezzies open, sort lunch, then feet up infront of the tele and whiz through loads of channels of total rubbish!!!!!

Not forgetting to watch 'The Great Escape' of course!

7 o'clock Christmas Eve, that's when my crimbo starts. Christmas dinner all prepared, kids freshly bathed, they have their new jimmy's on, all of us watching 'It's a Wonderful Life' and me and hubby sharing a nice bottle of plonk.......Once Christmas dinner is over, that's my job done until the day after Boxing Day....Hubby always does the dishes and we live on picky food(turkey & stuffing sandwiches) [:D]

I love Christmas, for all reasons [:D] I am religious and I do think it's all too commercial and about the money, but I still love it. From decorating the house to wrapping the pressies to..... oh everything [:D]

I have 50 worth of M and S vouchers coming for runner up in the blogs this month; I've saved Boots points and vouchers from Pigsback worth 80 quid; I've already made the teacher gifts; and I've bought some real bargains over here for Christmas, 7 pressies. So feeling really pleased with myself knowing that it's just the 6 kids and 2 partners that we've got left :) Think I'm blowing my own trumpet but it's a nice feeling :)

I always try to do my food shopping as early in the morning as possible. I hate food shopping at the best of time, but at Christmas I grow horns!

Do the shopping very early Christmas Eve, clean the house from top to bottom, fetch parents and that's it.

I'm working Boxing Day, so I'll make the most of Christmas Day.

Thats the beauty of not having visitors over Xmas. No need to do masses of shopping, and no need to cook a 3 tonne turkey. A chop with all the trimmings is just as good [:D]

We buy a quarter of a butterfly, breast, call it what you will, of turkey, a small gammon and that's it meat wise.

We usually have a fresh turkey and a piece of pork....we had a smaller one last christmas and it was great, no living on turkey for the rest of the year!! lol It's the chocolates and ket(sweets) that I hate lying around, there is only so much chocolate you can eat in a space of a few days.....
I do love the kids plays, even though they reduce me to a crying wreck. I have a tape from when the 2 eldest were in reception and nursery and I play it......I get absolutely tortured as I can't listen to it without bawling my eyes out and saying, 'Arrh, they're dead canny bairns'.....oh my god, I'm crying now just thinking of it.....
It's nice to be back......
