Hello all!

Can you help answer 2 quick questions?

1. I have had to send my creditors details to the ICO as they have still yet to update my credit reference files to show that I have completed my IVA and to correct the dates. How quickly do they respond? I sent the details a couple of weeks back and got the automated email, but heard nothing since

2. I've just moved in with my partner and we are sorted bills!!! So far everything is in his name alone as I am not sure what my history would do to his credit file, but what do we do about council tax and the electoral role? Can that be put in both our names and can I be on the electoral role at the same property as him and my history not affect him??

Sorry all - yet more questions from me!!

Hope you're all well and have been enjoying the great weather :-)

xx

Hi Lusso and nice to see you!

I think you have to wait for about 28 days before escalting things with regards to your credit reference.

There will not be a problem with your partner - your IVA will not affect him at all unless you have any joint debts. You can put yourself on the electoral roll and he will not be affected. Our council tax is only in one name so I wouldn't worry about that.

HI Lusso - hopefully without putting the damper on the romantic aspect of living together.:-) Most of our utililty bills etc have joint names on them - that way we are both liable - on the postive side - it makes giving out identification etc a lot easier.

Oh and make sure that your not accidentially claiming single person council tax discount - as that will come back to haunt you :-)

Have a look at your Local council website and put yourself on the Electoral roll - you need to to build up a new positive credit history

28 days is a reasonable time, according to the Information Commissioner, for them to update your file.

I believe it's best to send a follow up letter, after 28 days giving them a further 28 days to respond, then make your complaint to the ICO and Banking Ombudsmen.

I'm sure the Banking Ombudsmen wants to see two letters before he will consider acting and 8 weeks need to have past, as you need to show you have tried to resolve the issue with the creditor first.
We're willing to wipe the slate clean, give you a fresh start. All that we're asking in return is your cooperation.
