You really do deserve to be debt free Debbie. You have worked incredibly hard over the last five years, and I have really admired your positivity in the face of adversity. Not long to go now!

Bit confused ? been in a iva for 4 years now and had to go to 2 banks for a remortgage ,both said no of course but wonderd why when the lady did my credit check it came back has i was bankrupt>>..thought an iva was different to being declared bankrupt.I mean would that not have been easier 4 yrs ago just to say im bankrupt?

I know that some establishments do class an IVA the same as bankruptcy. I think one of our regular posters wrote to their mortgage company if my memory serves me right to put them straight, I'm sure she'll be along later to confirm. x

My mortgage provider wrote to us and said we were bankrupt and I had to phone and put them straight.

Unfortunately some companies don't differentiate but I think they are in the minority.

What i forgot to add reguarding getting turned down for 2 remortagages, was that one of the banks was one that had to be bailed out by the goverment ie the taxpayer ie ME[:)].Talk about double standards.

We are at the very same stage. Just where has the time gone. Like everyone has said we have had some difficult months and some really easy months. But really looking forward to being debt free now. Hope everyone is well.

Glad things are going ok and good to see you are past the halfway point.
