Hi

Its been at least a year sine i last posted but thought i would give you a qick update. I'm now in my 3rd year and will be completing my 3rd review in november. I have even mamaged to get an increased food buget of 190 instead of 150 for myself as i'm now unable to eat wheat. Buying a small loaf of bread for 2.79 is not laughing matter. hope all is going well.xx

Great news that things are going well for you. these posts are always well received from people looking at entering into an IVA, as they can see that there is light at the end of the tunnel, so thank you for sharing your personal experiences with us.

I'm glad it's going well for you, and that your IP was reasonable about your food budget.

If you don't mind me asking, are you a coeliac? If so, you can get some food on prescription.

Good luck with the rest of your IVA, and don't forget to let us know how you're getting on x

Well done for getting so far. I can imagine that it must be a nightmare if you have any form of allergy.

no not a coeliac just end up with really bad reactions, so it has to go. I think the only reason my food bill has gone up is due to the amount of fresh food i now eat, even the cheap veg is still steep in price. But i feel 100% better for cutting wheat out, its just a shame i cant get any of the food on perscription.

I'm glad you're feeling better now. I have the same problem with dairy and while I eat it now and then I feel better if I don't have it. Free From products and soya and rice milk are so expensive.

It's about time that people with allergies or some sort of food intolerance weren't penalised with the price of the sort of foods which are needed for a healthy lifestyle.

They shouldn't have to be Jan - a good IP will put forward a case for higher expenditure and personally I have never had creditors query this with me. It is all about presenting proposals properly.

Actually Mel - I was talking about the supermarkets!

I can appreciate what you are saying though, and would hope that any IP worth their salt would put this forward - as I know you would.

Oops sorry Jan!!! You are quite right - eating healthily these days is far too expensive, and many people will choose a cheaper option to try and save money.

It was my fault as I didn't make myself very clear!

Healthy food should be a lot cheaper than junk food in my opinion, and those with allergies should not have to pay any extra!

[:D] Plasticdaft!

Unfortunately I can't eat cream as it doesn't agree with me which rules out my favourite lamb tikka masala!
