No - you do what you can and if you can't then you can't. Correct me if I am wrong but are you not with Grant Thornton? They will do the right thing when the time comes, so put those documents away and have a lovely Valentines Eve with Mrs Torch.

I'll still be on the forum to help in four years time if you run into trouble!
Regards, Melanie Giles, Insolvency Practitioner

New to this forum and as we are now into our fourth year of IVA, the question of re-mortgage is making me twitchy. I have read the original agreement and this states that we should obtain a valuation of the property and pay the quity over £5000 into the agreement. It is a joint IVA with my husband, but another area of the agreement has payments of up to 60 months. We currently have a mortgage of £72000, the house is valued approx £180,000 and our initial IVA was for £120K, of which we have been paying £685 per month for the last four years (which has crippled us), I am scared that we won't be able to get a re-mortgage in the current climate, what with our current mortgage and IVA we are paying out £1500 per month and have very little left. Any help would be truly appreciated. We are scared to go direct to our IP in case this costs even more money[xx(]
