Glad it's sorted but could have caused unecessary worrying for someone.
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

I'm glad its sorted Jan....and I agree with the others Payplan should provide some sort of service over the holidays. I would have thought in the current climate it would be beneficial for someone to at least field calls and take enquiries.

I wonder if the other IP companies have a complete shutdown over the festive season?

If the newspapers are to be believed Melanie you and other IPs will not be quiet for much longer - record insolvencies - both personal and commercial are predicted.

The banks don't shut for the whole two weeks though RHB, only the bank holidays, and my branch of Barclays was actually open on 28th which was the public holiday.

I do agree that there should have been some sort of cover during last week.

I had to work over the Christmas period as did a lot of other people.

I hope so Max. I have built up a fantastic team over the last couple of years, and I must keep them fully occupied.

I also think that Melanie and other IP's will be getting busy to, been snowed in today and been reading various news reports and predictions for this year

here's a quote from one artical I read

"The soaring rate of insolvencies is being driven by a combination of rising unemployment during the economic downturn and a “debt hangover” caused by the credit boom. People took on record levels of debt in the run-up to the credit crunch, often borrowing money to fund their lifestyle, with total household borrowing standing at £1.458 trillion at the end of October, of which £228 billion was unsecured debt."

so scary figures there !!

I do believe a lot of people will address their debt problems this month once the christmas Credit card bills come in and hopefully they'll find the forum for some good advice and support.

I think so too Lesley, xmas is so easy to overspend and then you dread those credit card bills plopping on the doorstep in Jan. One thing that being in an IVA has taught me is to be very careful and save for xmas. This year like the two previous ones i haven't had to worry about what comes through the letter box and that piece of mind money can't buy that is for sure. I have already started buying saving stamps for a well known supermarket in readiness for next xmas and have now made arrangements for saving all my points vouchers till november of this year, plus have also started a penny tin again. I know i probably sound a bit like an old anorak but it is worth it in the long run.
Om shanti, namesté, good luck to all who are embarking on the IVA journey, it isn't always an easy one but the outcome is the best.

IVA COMPLETED August 2012, received Completion certificate 18.4.13.

Same here - I shall be saving for Christmas as well again this year.

Have to admit that I do use Coinstar all the time -it's more convenient!

Maybe it's me, but personally think the more holiday you can have with your family the better! Obviously this can't apply to emergency services but we used to cop when I was a kid without baniking on the weekend & half day closing & all the rest of it!!!

In an ideal world yes, but we all know it's not an ideal world. Why should Payplan's clients have to stress over Christmas because they close their offices?

How right you are Skippy - my Vet was on duty all over Christams and even our GP had a surgery for emergencies on Boxing Day - not many doctors do that. One advantage of living in the country I suppose.
