About your question.
Mike Thomas runs an IVA firm. Maybe he is not an IP if he is not on the IP list. The firm is called Debt wizard. He helps others too.He specialises in Police IVA.

_______________
I read a real life case from an a IVA cmpany owner called Mike Thomas specialising in Police IVA. He has a column in the Police Life Gazzette read by many serving officers and have been on BBC. I aways read his articles.

This case had someone with 27K debt, a £490 payment was affordable.

He said under an IVA minus the fees, 70p to the pound would be on offer. Instead he said a DMP from an agency was the advice -Now that's the right advice. And I wonder how many IVA company would have tackled this and offered a IVA instead?

It just goes to show a fine dividing line exist between an IVA or DMP choice. A skill advisor is so inportant.

I think a good rule of thumb is taking the amount of unsecured debt and dividing it by 60. If your DI is bigger than this figure you should be seeking advice as to whether an informal plan is more suitable.

Hi sonyse,

Thanks for posting this. Did the article mention which IVA firm Mr Thomas works under? I cannot see him on the Insolvency Service list.

Was the article online? If so, could you post the link for it?

Many thanks
Terry Balfour
