I have noticed a company called max recovery appeared on my credit file. I was made bankrupt in feb 2009 I am not sure who they are or what they want. They have not contacted me but this makes me very uneasy and scared. I am now out of my bankruptcy can they come after me.

Hi Christine and welcome to the forum

Max Recovery are a firm who purchase bad debts from banks and other lenders. They effectively replace the original lender, and don't worry they cannot come after you so long as the original lender was included in the bankruptcy - ie the debt was incurred prior to your bankruptcy.

Hi Christine, I have a debt attributed to Max Recovery in my IVA.... they are a very low key organisation....... They do not hassle me - I only get the occaisional statement which has a very clear notation that effectively says 'for info only - we will not contact you' .......... my view is that you have nothing at all to worry about. We have some of our debts owned by Max recovery and we get the occasional statement and have had no issues with them.
