Hi
I spent all day in Melanie's Cardiff office yesterday and I will be writing a detailed blog tomorrow.
Just to say that I already had a high regard for Melanie and her team before the day but having spent the day there and sitting in on client and creditors meetings I truly believe that Melanie should be a role model for the insolvency industry.
The word on the street was that IPs charge too much for their work, well don't you believe it,not even for a moment because any IP who works in the same manner as Melanie deserves every penny that they get.
I wonder if the creditors really know just what is involved in setting up and administrating an IVA ?
I know that the industry has received a bashing over IVAs and fees but I can now understand why IPs,such as Melanie, feel that such comments are unfair.Quite simply,if yesterday was a reflection of the vast majority of IPs in the UK then such comments are totally unfounded.
I would love to spend a day in a large volume processor, are there any companies transparent enough to invite me ?
Regards

Melanie's always quick to point out that there are many good IP's out there, but from what you say Andy, and from what I've read in these pages, I suspect she and her outfit are very much leaders in their field, certainly in quality if not size... Perhaps we should campaign for more IVA companies to take a look at this site, I'm sure they could learn a thing or two about working effectively with their 'customers'... Melanie's certainly a good role model, but I can't imagine too many others spending as much time here supporting and advising all of us, customers of hers or otherwise...

hi andy, as much as i would love to entertain you for the day. going through our voting rational and such. i'm not sure if we are allowed.also in the whole scheme of things were certainly not the biggest player. however if you would like i could pass you my boss's number and you can give them a tinkle and see if we can accomodate you?

obviously not mentioning where you got the number from

Spot on Andy!!!
I cannot praise Melanie and her team (Hi guys) highly enough. I can honestly say I do not know where I would be right now if I had not picked up the phone and first spoke with Tina. I've also met with Melanie at her office in Cardiff and was very nervous. But Melanie and her team put me at ease straight away and made me feel like a human. I would reccomend anyone out there who is in debt, and sitting there terrified as to what to do next to call Melanie. You will be treated with respect and get good sound honest help and advice. Keep up the excellent work Melanie and team!
All the best
Mike

Well done Melanie, its such a horrible time in someones life when they realise the horror of the mess they/we are in. Yes I know its all our own fault and we all know that but with so many horror stories, the fear the stress and all that goes with the horror, its so good to know that there is someone to turn to in this very needy, shameful time who can be relied on to give the best honest advice.

I trully feel that this is what it should all be about. I know you cant expect personal sevice throughout the whole five years but at the beggining of the process when people are vunerable and very much alone (not even being able to face their own family in many cases, including myself). Its so important to get it right. Thanks.

I only hope the factories will take a leaf out of your book.

You are most welcome Melanie:-)
You and your team deserve every bit of all the high praise you get, you all work hard to get people's lives back on track and I for one can honestly say it is very much appreciated, I really do not know what I would have done without your help and support. I am now looking forward to the New Year with a new start, a second chance I will not mess up this time. Thank you!!
All the best
Mike

echo everything mike says about the service from Melanie's team, I spoke on the phone very late one evening with her which i am sure is not a service you would get from any other company.
Melanie does not work on a 9-5 basis, as I am sure everyone on this forum is aware of!!! with the timings on some of her posts I always wonder when she stops!!
The team are fantastic also, Tina was the first person i spoke to and was brilliant and I felt so reasured at the end of the conversation, Angela was fab also for any questions I had or if I was getting worried about anything and on meeting day Sarah was amazing and made sre I understood everything.
Cannot speak highly enough of the whole team[:D]

mikes
I am so pleased for you that, how different do you sound from your first posts when you were scared to pick up the phone and get help?!!
I hope things continue to improve for you and your family and hope you have a great Christmas together

Hey Emma,
I have to say I'm feelin' totally different to the guy who sat down at his computer a few weeks ago, tired, desperate, frightened, dazed, confused and completely at his wits end. I still can't beleive how things have turned around, and I owe it all to Melanie, Hywel, and the team (Hi Tina, Angela and everyone else, sorry I don't know all the names) Major light at the end of the tunnel, one nail biting hurdle to go, which I should know about on Monday. So I could be the man I used to know and have respect for by this time next week, what a wonderful Christmas present that would be!!
All the best
Mike
