We've got to get our wills sorted out as well - neither of us have much at the moment so we're going to do the DIY sort, but we will both inherit money in time from our parents, when we'll have to make sure they're water tight. Dave will inherit his mum's holiday cottage and we plan to live there, so he'd have to make sure that it wouldn't pass to his children as they would most likely make me homeless. I also want to sort mine out to make sure that if anything happened to us nothing of mine would go to his children and grandchildren, but to my god children.

That may sound selfish and/or bitter, but a lot has happened to make me feel that way.

Julie, if you are looking for pet insurance have a look on Quidco and buy it through there as you can get cash back - I'll get £20 for changing to Homebase. It looked like pretty good cover, the only difference being they will pay £2500 per year for vets' bills as opposed to £4000 for Petplan.

I have insurance through Pet Plan for both the horses. Its a little expensive for the big one but to be fair it does cover everything including public liability. Very cheap for the little one as he doesnt do a lot.

The only reason I changed from Petplan was the price - I thought £15 a month for cat insurance was a bit steep!

There is no way either of us would get life insurance with our health problems, so it's a no no.

I shall probably get us some DIY wills, although to be fair there isn't a lot - just our house as hubby's parent's died a long time ago and mine live in a council house.

I want our house to go to our daughter, not step kids, so I don't blame you Skippy.

As to pet insurance, I must admit that I do tend to got with the ones who have the higher cover rather than go for price.

We pay £35 for the big horse but that includes theft, disposal if he dies, vets, tack and public liability and also insures him doing most activities.

The little one is £10 a month just for theft, disopsal and public liability. We didnt take the vet cover because we have never used it for the other horse, its always been cheaper to pay for any antibiotics and such like rather than paying the excess

When I compared the Petplan and Homebase ones we actually got more from Homebase. Obviously I hope I never have to claim but it's nice to know it's there just in case.

blimey. Marky b, that is a sad story, your poor friend... May I say what a fantastic friend you are though, should be a few more like you in the world.

I dont have any life insurance anymore, I cancelled it as part of the origional IVA, I did feel a bit worried about this though. I wonder if I would get any now?

I had pet plan insurance for Cole and Syra. Due to the fact that they were bottle fed, Syra has a slight heart murmur and Cole has a recurring skin problem, I was paying 21 per month, someone said thats a lot so I changed to Tesco which is just under half the price, I was totally honest as I was with Pet Plan. The only difference is that Cole isnt covered for any problems relating to his diaphram hernia. This was fixed surgically.
