Hey,
I'm also going for a scottish trust deed, i was wondering if you could help me with something? I met a rep from my IP firm the other day, he said that when i got my deed i had to sign it and have it witnessed. The only thing is its not to be witnessed by a member of the family, the only people who know of my situation is my parents. Can i go to citizens advice and ask them to witness it?
Thanks
wendy

Hi Wendy

You say you met a rep from your IP firm - we must have been lucky as the actual IP came for a face to face visit which helped a lot.
Ref getting a witness, seems anyone as long as not family - we got a friend to sign it, but to cover up the fact that it was a Trust Deed document, we covered the sheets apart from the signature space and said it was our updated Will (we had a son just off to Afghanistan) as it was a friend they were not interested in what the document was. And Yes, Citizens Advice would be fine as well. Best of luck and remember just 36 months and not these English 60!
