I had an interesting phone call from McCambridge Duffy today ... my F&F offer was accepted a couple of months ago.

Apparently, as part of their 'customer service', McCambridge Duffy have been going through their records and they have noted that one of my creditors was a Barclaycard loan and that I was 'sold' insurance with it. In view of the recent claims that this was illegal McCambridge Duffy are offereing the services of their legal department to claim compensation for me on a 'no win, no fee' basis ... they get 25% commission on a win.

I thought this was an interesting twist in the role of the IP!!!

Hi TOL

I found McCambridge Duffy to be immensely professional and they put together a very good, tight and effective IVA for me.

10 months in however an unexpected event came up that threatened my IVA and this is when I discovered that McCambridge Duffy as one of the 'big' IVA providers can be a little impersonal and it is difficult to talk directly with your IP.

But with a nudge from Melanie and a few stroppy letters from me they came up absolute trumps once again in securing my F&F for me.

Hope this helps

I'm certainly going for it ... I just thought it was a strange thing for an IP to be involved in doing.

Perhaps they are doing less IVAs and they see this as a new way of earning money! But for an IP firm to be working against their ultimate paymasters, it is a little odd - and I wonder how the banks will receive this?

Exactly the same as I thought Melanie! Seems a bit of a conflict of interests to me?
