Dear Liverpig, my thoughts are with you at this very sad time. I understand how you are feeling and the pain you are enduring at losing your loved one.

I too lost the love of my life this year. Our cat, Jossy was 18 years old and had been with us for 12.

For the past two years Jossy had kidney failure, an overactive thyroid and the muscles in his behind had gone. Yet we persevered and spent all the money we had (including using a credit cards) to pay towards his vet bills and continued medication.

The day finally came at the beginning of March when we had to say goodbye and I literally was hyperventilating in the vets that morning. Even now I start to cry just thinking about it.

I dont think I will ever really get over losing my boy. He was everything to me and I miss him every day.

However, I dont know if you believe in divine intervention but after losing Jossy it made myself and my husband stronger in dealing with our debt problems and it was the day after losing him that we contacted the IVA Bureau and got the ball rolling on our IVA. It was like we were being guided to deal with our problems.

Seven months down the line we still miss our boy very much and after Christmas we will introduce a new cat into our lives. I almost feel like this could be betraying Jossy but I know he will want us to be happy.

Much love and big hugs to you.

xxxxxx

I miss our dogs all the time, but I also cannot be without at least one (we have three currently). They are never replacements as they each have their own personalities.

They do help in filling the void though.
