Good Afternoon

You may remmeber early this week a put a post on stating i was had an appointmnet with abbey to see if they would upgrade account to a debit card and cheque book account - i think we all agreed their would be a slim chance of this happeneing.

Any way just got back, explained i was in an IVA it didnt really know to much about it, but he looked at my account and had seen it had been running correctly for last 12 months. He agreed to try, but he did warn me that their will be a credit check, I told him to go ahead but it would probably decline as my credit rating is probably the same as a bankcrupt, he agreed but he said i like to think its a bit better than bankcrupt, becuase at least trying to pay soem money back to the creditors.

Any way did the check - it was declined. However he did state this happenend the other day, but instead of appyling to upgrade the account he applied for a new account and it got accepted. So he asked if he could try that with me - I agreed.

It got ACCEPTED, obvisouly no overdraft, heres what i get -

Visa debit card
Internet Banking
Free withdrawls
Cheque book
As its a new account, abbey are giving 8% interest for 12 months, just wish I had spare money to get the interest.

He also explained because to get the account a credit check, then as long as i run the account correctly this will go down as a positive on my credit rating, helping to improve my creidt score.

I was amazed i got it

no matter how bad money gets, theirs stll alot more important things in life - 48 payments to go

Hi
Just goes to show
Best to be upfront and honest about your situation, creditors may start to realise that someone in an IVA for a number of years is actually a good risk as they have learned to live on a budget.

Superb James! Seems as though meeting them in person can make a difference!
