With the merger of Halifax to Lloyds TSB I wanted to create an alternative option incase my money becomes unsafe - therefore I walked into the Abbey this morning and asked them to open me a Basic Bank account -the lady that I saw, explained that their basic account was ceasing however she could open me Instant Plus account !
I explained that I was in a IVA and did not want an account with a overdraft.......that was all ok.
Within 20 minutes I left with a new bank account call Instant Plus, didn't need a credit check done and I will have a Visa Electron card with internet banking in 10 days time !
Worth a walk into the local branch as apparently these would not be able to be opened on line !

There is a solution for everyone .... Just need to stay positive !
That is good news, in the process of opening an account with the co-op (awaiting account details) but it is good to know there is an alternative if something goes wrong!
