Hi, i recently wrote a post saying how we were struggling so badly.
As advised we contacted our company and redone our i&e form.
Because our gas, electric and mortgage has all gone up we now can only offer half of our iva payment instead of the amount it was set at.

We are still waiting to see if this will be accepted. We actually just want to go bankrucpt now but we dont know if we are allowed due to my husbands job. I think he has DV secruity vetting. They know about the iva.

We live in a rented property and rent out our mortgaged home as it was to small for us and is £45000 in neg eq!!

So, 2 main questions,

1, our car is worth around £2500 and is on hp. We need this to get around. Would we keep this if we went br?

2, is it possible to go br when you have the highest/ higher levels of vetting?

Many, many thanks for reading this!!!!

Yes providing yr husband is open and honest with his DV officer! He ought to speak to him just to let him know what he's planning to do! Good luck! Let us know how you get on! Also is BR really the right way for you both?

I think that the most important thing for you to consider is the effect bankruptcy may have on your husband's employment. Without an income, your options will be entirely limited - and as you have correctly highlighted the DV issue may result in him losing his job. Once this is known, you will be in a position to ask more questions about bankruptcy, and then make a reasoned choice about your options moving forward.
