Of course they will Ox, and that sounded much more positive. Just remember if your F&F were to fail the alternative is not BR, the alternative is IVA which will safe guard your home and career. You can afford it because we all do, we all find a way. Forget BR, put it our of your head i just dont think you are a case for BR. Your wage is too high and your debts too low i just cant see why on those sorts of figures there would even be talk of BR, its crazy.

OK, Ox .. I am one of your creditors and examining what I would get if I rejected your IVA and pushed for BR ..... let's see Hmmmmm, House ? Negative equity -- won't get anything there. Payments Order .... Accountant ... will lose his job if he went BR .. so no Payments forthcoming there ... I know, we'll go for his car! Oh No .. it's a lease vehicle.

OK, we will get nothing at all in BR -- let's go for the IVA.

Forget BR Josu thats exactly what I am going to try and do I take your statement positively.
I do think maybe I am making a mountain out of a molehill as people consider my debt to be small. Hopefully the creditors will also and accept my offer, I am sure the proposal will good is mel is involved
I am off to sort my kids sleepover etc and try and forget it for a bit

Hmmmm Foggy like it... that has made my Friday though does us sound a basket case but so many people are struggling these days and often with heads in sand

Good evening mark. Im struggling to get my 9 year old into bed! at this rate i'll be asleep before she is! lol! Good luck with the sleepover!!!
Just a thought but some of the feelings youve been having could they be side effects of the citalopram?? just an idea.
You really must stop looking at BR as inevitable. Its not in the creditors interests to make you BR! They will get b***** all from it so whats the point??
I cant give you an opinion about F&F acceptance as i dont have any knowledge/experience in this area but i can tell you that we are a family of 5 with a mortgage and both working...alright im on maty leave but only for 6 months so for majority of iva we will both work and will therefore have 3 kids in childcare. Our joint income is just over 40k...debts were more and yet determined to make iva work. Debts more than our joint income (46k!!!). I dont see why you cant see an iva can work?? you earn twice as much than what you owe AND have a 10k cheque!!! Id love to be in your position!!!!

Foggy et al

I want you to know your comments last night pre the sleepover made it an worry free night and I feel less anxious also 4 kids up 2am might of helped
Basically if I read it right my mind says get the IVA sorted manage to our budget then try to increase iur income post approval and all will be good,
10 years time look back at a blip in life and manage out budget better

Curiously have many people done an IVA and then successful gone on to pay off their mortgage

Hi Ox, glad you had a good sleep and enjoyed your evening.
I would assume that most people who have done an Iva and happened to post on here, then completed the mortgage, would not be active members of the forum so we`d never get to know.
However I expect that mortgage completion is high post IVA. We came onto a lifetime tracker once the fixed rate finished during our IVA and are quite happy staying put - there again we are in our 50`s and the house is getting bigger than we need rather than the other way round.

That is a good way to look at it and yes lots of people have gone on to be more successful, pay off their mortgage, be happier and a whole host of other things. I've not got the same life as I had pre-IVA but I've got a different life which is a much calmer and happier life.

Every one of us has different aspirations in life, keep a focus on the positive and you can achieve your dreams. This minor blip is just that, something that is being dealt with and will one day be a memory. I learned a lot from being in an IVA and in a way if I never entered one, where would I be now? financially I'd not have learned anything, that's a fact. But now I have a whole new friend set from the forum as both on and off the forum I converse and meet with some posters and for that I'm grateful too.

It WILL all be ok for you in the end.
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

4 kids overnight --- not for the faint hearted ! My 6 year old is joined by a 9 and 11 year old for an hour or two most evenings ... and that drives me to distraction --- how can 3 young lads make so much noise and destruction ???

Anyway --- I trust your brood enjoyed it :-)

This is a new confusion for me Ox. If you are in negative equity your IVA will not affect your mortgage so once you have finished your IVA you will continue paying your mortgage off as if you have never been in one and you will pay it all the way through your IVA so it makes no difference to your mortgage. As long as you make sure that you learn something from all this, that something has to give, you cant continue with the outgoings that you have. (p.s still think its the lease car that has to go)

Movie is good
One thing has become real to me with my salary drop even without the debts if we never had them we would have had to look at our budget and everything is covered even 50 for hobbies entertainment 550 for food etc etc
So when debts are sorted then I can concentrate on fixing that with the wife getting work or me getting back to salary level I was at if I can get this contract extended I reckon a payrise may come with it and a car allowance so maybe it would turn out ok

I think I was just panicking that we would not survive whe in reality the tighter life is better than some alternwtives and we can rebuild from there. I am a victim of living to my higher salary and now t dropped it worried me

The thing is everyones idea of a 'tighter life' is different, yours is probably still pretty good Ox, just try to remember how little some people really have and what a lovely life you can still give your kids even on a bit of a budget. They probably wont even notice and will at least appreciate what they have if they dont get everything. Not saying that they do, you know what i mean.
