I have 2 cats, they share a litter tray, as they don't go out, but I change the litter every day, I use Beauticat, its made from reformed sawdust and does not smell at all. It just reverts back to sawdust when used, and if they do a No2 I just scoop it out and flush it down the toilet. (lovely job, the things I have to do!) Neither of the cats have ever "done anything" anywhere but in the tray, I suppose I am lucky in that respect but the litter does tend to go all over the carpet, I am forever vacumming![:D]

Its extra work, but I would not be without my cats, I love 'em to bits!

We still have a litter tray - ours are 10!
They did used to like going behind the telly....soon put stop to that!
I do often find my cats come on to use the litter tray,, and i soon send them back out (if I catch them doing it).
I buy Tesco value litter and find that it is no worse than any of the other more expensice brands.

Arent cats supposed to be clever?
Our parrot calls one of our cats over by name and the cat is stupid enough to go. The parrot lets him get right up against the cage and then bites him.
The best of it is, the parrot laughs. But the cat is dumb enough to keep going over to her.

yeah I think I'll try other brands, I did try asda, but almost the whole bag seemed to be dust! We used to use Beauticat in the bottom of the guinea pig cage, so perhaps I could try that too.

They are quite minging really aren't they??? I have 4 cats and 3 of them will go outside during the day, crying to be out. The other one, long haired female around 10yrs will go anywhere if the cat litter isn't there. She really is a house cat and will not go out even if forced! Caught her peeing where the tray is usually kept, even though the back door was wide open and the tray outside......she just won't go out.
It's nice to be back......

Our tom cat is scared of his own shadow and isnt keen on the outside world. Every now and then he goes out but then 5 minutes later hes hanging on the letterbox knocking like a bailiff to get back in. The neighbours find it really funny...........not them that has to get up and answer the door though is it? LOL

Mrs Skint that is hilarious!
Mario doesn't seem to behave as a cat should either - he appears to like water! He's been in the bath with me and in the kids pool!(although don't think he meant to do either!) He even washes his paws in his water bowl...

Latchford will sit on the side of the bath and put his left paw in the water. Other than that Teide cleans him!

They both drink out of a big dish on the side of the bath - he will drink out of your glass if you let him.

I'm going to call the vet about him spraying - see if there's anything wrong.

Good idea Julie, does it till smell bad? I thought once they'd been 'done' there is a chance that they might still spray, but it shouldnt smell too bad...

My female cat is very antisocial but when im ill im very restless in the night and if i get out of bed and go downstairs, she follows me and stays there till i go back to bed. If i go to bed through the day for a nap she curls up with me on the end of the bad and as soon as i wake up she gets off the bed and goes back into hiding.

The eldest tom forms relations with cuddly toys....if you follow what I mean??!!
He was a rescue cat and has been done before we got him....has a special liking to hubby's giant gorilla I got him for valentines a few year ago, much to hubby's annoyance....
It's nice to be back......
