Wondered if someone can help me. I completed my Iva last year, spent the year getting my credit rating back up. The other day I was looking at my credit report and noticed they was a new credit one there from a company called Marlin. I phoned them to see why and they said that according to Northern Rock I defaulted in 2011 so as they've taken over it would stay on my file for a few more year. I explained about my IVA (they already have my completion certificate) again but they aren't listening and say there's nothing they can do. My credit rating has now gone from excellent to poor and I was about to go and get a mortgage :-(

If the loan was covered by your IVA them Marlin have bought a dud. Have a look here:

There is a template letter which might help. They are as bound by the IVA as NR were and must comply.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
IVA Completed 23rd July 2013 .... C.C. 10th January 2014

I would write to them, providing evidence of original debt included in your IVA and the completion cert and request they amend your records immediately otherwise you will make a formal complaint against them.
Sharing from experiences of dealing with debt

There is a solution for everyone .... Just need to stay positive !

Look at my blog "All I wanted was a baby"
