Hi, i haven't posted here for some time, and apologies for that. I am seven months into my IVA and all seems to be well at the moment, fingers crossed.
I now have a partner in my life and we are not living together. It crossed my mind that if we were ever to move in together what would happen about what i pay in my IVA. He has a more highly paid job than myself. I rent at the moment from a housing association and if we did start to live together it would be in a rented property and obviously we would share equally all the costs. Can any of his wages be taken from him, as obviously none of this is anything to do with him. And what would happen to the amount of payments i make. Any advice would be really appreciated.
None of his money will be paid across but your IVA payments may well increase as your outgoings decrease as your partners wages will be paying into the bills aswell as yours, freeing up more DI. However your outgoings may also go up with a different property.
Steve is right. All your IP will want to know is that you are both paying towards the household expenses.
If it frees up more DI, then you may find your payments go up.

Make sure you fill in a new I&E when you do move in together.
Good luck with the new bloke!

It is something that would have to be taken up with the IP.
Unless the outgoings go up considerably then the payments at the very least should stay as they are, otherwise there is a good chance that they may go up!

thanks everyone!! should be an interesting time all round really, everything has gone up as per usual, gas rent council tax water rates, everything, however at work we have been told there will be no annual pay rise this year!!!! i guess we have to be lucky we have a job. So my first review should be interesting.

You just have to be honest at your review - if you've no extra then there's nothing you can do about it.

You have to submit a new I&E every year. Usually you find that your expenditure has gone up as well.
If you don't have a payrise but other things have gone up, then you need to inform your IP.

If you find it difficult managing between now and the review, let the IP know now.
If not, leave things as they are and tell them at review time.
